It was the last time, Link decided, that he would search the woods. He was relatively sure that he had been through all of it, multiple times in fact, and there didn't seem to be anything new.
Then he came across a little boy with a white bear hood.
"We might be lost," the child announced.
"You ain't kidding," the previously unnoticed dog somehow replied.
"WHY IS NOTHING BURNING YET?!" Kefka demanded, four the seventeenth time that day.
"Shut up and go burn something if it's that important to you," Loki replied for the seventeenth time.
"If you don't stop this, Kefka
"What is that?" Ganondorf directed his question at the god, pointing at something out the window. In the distance, there appeared to be a mountain made entirely of ice.
I have no idea." Loki admitted.
"Then you didn't create it?"
"I'm afraid not."
"I'M GOING TO BURN IT!" Kefka screamed, taking off. The others stared blankly after him for a minute.
"Should we stop him?"
"He'll fail anyway," Loki replied, "I'm going to investigate, though."
Ultros had disappeared the day before, so Ganondorf was alone once the trickster left. Or so he thought.
"Interesting people," a voice announced from behind him. He swung around, coming face to face with a pale young woman with long black hair.
"Who are you?" he demanded, in a quite threatening tone.
"Marceline," she replied with a taunting grin, "the vampire queen. You're Ganondorf, aren't you?"
"And how would you know that?" he was on edge, understandably so.
"Oh calm down. I'm not hurting anyone," she floated in a circle around him, "I've just been watching you guys for a while. Pretty cool idea, setting up in your enemies' basement. I think I'll stay."
"They said their names are Finn and Jake." Link explained to the confused crowd.
"I thought you had been turned into a kid again, at first." Zelda was watching Finn as he climbed the wall and ran around the roof.
"Careful, child!" Thor called.
"This is way cool!" he replied, jumping inside through a window.
"Fingal has something to do with this." Celes decided.
"Is that the old guy?" Jake asked, unfazed, "Yeah, he said someone needed help over here so we followed him."
"Why would you do something so reckless?" Zelda demanded.
"And how are you talking?" Celes added.
"Because Finn's a hero type, and I've got magic powers."
"There's someone in there!" the aforementioned hero crawled back through the open window. Terra poked her head out, clearly confused.
"We just found them."
"Hey, does anyone know a lady with pink hair?" Sabin asked, joining the others, "Cause Edgar's harassing her right now."
Much to their collective terror, Finn jumped off the roof. He landed safely, though, and ran off to find the princess in question.
Who was that?"
"-Your beauty has captivated me!"
"What are you talking about?"
"SUPER VAMPIRE KICK!"
The king was knocked to the ground by Finn's sudden attack.
"You know that we were never really vampires, right?" Jake asked.
"Yeah man, I just like saying it."
"Oh there you guys are!" the princess exclaimed, "I was looking all over for you!"
"What is actually happening right now?" Locke, who had been watching from the shadows, asked nobody in particular.
Loki, not having the ability to fly, had instead created a mountain of ice under himself so that he could reach the entrance. He wasn't sure what he had been expecting, but it was certainly not the penguin he came face to face with. As soon as it had seen him, it began quacking loudly.
"Gunter!" An angry old man wearing a crown came into view, "What are you-"
It was here that he noticed that somebody else was, in fact there. There were a few moments of awkward silence, then the king lifted a hand above his head.
"Zap!" He cried, shooting a mysterious blue beam. Reacting quickly, Loki formed a shield of ice, which was bombarded with
more ice. The old man's jaw dropped, revealing unnaturally pointed teeth.
"You dare challenge the god of mischief?" Loki demanded, being ominous for the fun of it as he formed a jagged frozen orb between his hands.
"It's like the son I never had!"
"Wh-what are you talking about?" Caught completely off-guard, he dropped his icy weapon and stared with wide eyes.
"Well what are you waiting for? Come inside the palace
of the Ice King!"
"Alright, so that we don't have to explain this again," Zelda gestured to the dog and his human, "these are Finn, Jake, and Princess Bubblegum. Fingal tricked them into coming here too."
"What's up?" Jake waved at the crowd standing two feet away.
"So let's all try our best to help them through the impending tortu- what?!"
The exclamation was in response to the smoke that had suddenly erupted from somewhere in the forest.
"Kefka." Edgar muttered.
"We should investigate." Locke decided, "Carefully, though. He's very dangerous. Alright, we'll form a group to- HEY! KID! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!"
Finn had sprinted right into the woods, toward the flames.
